A bit about the employer

Join a well-established family owned and run warehousing / third party logistics business that has plans underway for further expansion.

Although they provide third party solutions for some well known brands and the standard of their delivery must be high, the team try not to take themselves too seriously.

There will be times when they will be working at pace and with high volumes of product, so our employer is looking for someone who will work hands-on alongside everyone else and who knows how to manage people for results.

Duties

  • Manage a team of up to 20

  • Work with the GM to agree casual worker requirements at peak times and in other aspects of determining the production plan

  • Run production meetings

  • Take a proactive stance in the management of Health & Safety requirements

  • Maintain effective working partnerships with the entire team and external suppliers

Remuneration

  • Pay will be commensurate with experience

  • In addition, there will be a bonus component tied to the performance of the team you lead, and recognising the impact you make in keeping them focussed on agreed outcomes

Hours of work

  • Around 40 hours per week

  • Monday to Friday

  • Start 7.30am

What you need to have

  • A solid understanding of what logistics inside a warehouse looks like, backed up by common sense

  • To be able to manage a team and instill some of the disciplines that have contributed to your own success

  • A highly engaged outlook and ability to keep the team focussed, especially around timelines and customer expectations

  • Keen awareness of the environment around you, paying attention to the multiple activities and deadlines that must be met

  • Forward thinking and forward planning – able to recognise conditions that could get in the way of targeted results and to address them proactively

  • A generally approachable management style

  • To be someone who likes seeing people be the best they can be, who fosters a happy work environment

  • High energy

  • Be physically fit

  • Good computer skills, including Outlook and MS Excel
