The role of Production Manager has a critical impact on their production capability and agility.

As such, you will have the support of the senior management team, and you will be appreciated for a practical outlook and down to earth readiness to get the best out of your team.

  • With seasonal highs and lows, there will be scope to get stuck in during the peaks – and to proactively reflect and revisit how things get done, when the throttle comes off. 

  • You will be working at a rural manufacturing site with others who are similarly hands-on when necessary, focussed on continuous improvement and who will be pulling in the same direction. 

  • Teamwork is a hallmark trait in how they work.

 

General scope of the position

Variety is assured, as you will take ownership of the day-to-day production, from making sure raw ingredients are on site ahead of time – right through to sending the finished product out the door – and most of what happens in between.

 

In summary, your role will span: 

  • Health & Safety

  • Overseeing a team of direct reports

  • Daily production

  • Inventory control

  • Purchasing

  • Quality checking of finished product

  • Grain silo management

  • Testing and compliance to maintain the company’s FeedSafe NZ accreditation

 

 Do you have?

We are looking for someone whose leadership track record shows an ability to excel in the above duties, along with: 

  • Good general health and a high degree of overall fitness to be comfortable with the physical aspects of the role 

  • Strong computer literacy (including MS Excel at intermediate or advanced level)

  • A positive, pragmatic approach

  • The talent to lead by example – and to both give and receive respect from those you work with
