Location of the role
This role reports to our client employer’s Quality and Compliance Manager located at their Christchurch Training Centre.
Therefore, it is preferred that the role be based in Christchurch. However, for the right applicant, the role could be situated in either Upper Hutt, Wellington – or Tauranga.
Some travel will be required.

The role
The company’s family is growing (literally) with their Academic Moderator soon heading off to welcome her new addition. Therefore, they are seeking an experienced Moderator to join the team to provide maternity cover.
This role requires a person who is an adaptive learner, organised thinker, and someone who is eager to be challenged.
You will work closely with our other Moderators to deliver on the company’s Moderation Plan and carry out quality assurance activities to support the wider VHNZ training team.
Key responsibilities
Internal post-assessment moderations of Learner assessments
Internal pre-assessment moderation of learning and assessment resources developed by VH Learning and Development Team prior to sending to the Working Development Council (WDC) for approval.
Assisting with external moderation compliance.
Onsite training delivery evaluation.

About you
Hold unit standard 11551 “Moderate Assessment.”
Proven relevant moderation experience preferably in the tertiary education sector.
An understanding of the New Zealand Qualifications Framework.
Have experience as a tertiary/industry trainer or assessor.
Experience in writing quality moderation reports.
Experience and knowledge to establish and maintain credibility with work colleagues.
Sound judgement in decision making.
Clear and effective communication (oral, written, interpersonal).
Proficiency in the use of the following programmes – MS Work, MS Outlook, MS Excel and SharePoint.
