Background 

With an expert team of engineers and fitters, our client employer, Pumpset Technology, provides pumping solutions, equipment and services to the fire protection market throughout New Zealand.

 

Core areas of the business currently are: 

1.     Diesel fire pump controllers

2.     Fire pump electrical panels

3.     Hydro power

4.     Irrigation controllers

 

This newly created position will be based on site with the mechanical engineering, production and support team in Penrose.

 

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will assist in leading by example in the assembly and completion of pumpsets and pumping solutions with the support of the Operations Manager.

 

Along with being a collaborative team, a sense of humour is welcome.

 

Duties 

  • Across the areas of pumpset assembly, test rig operations, pump hire operations and leadership, some of the duties include: 

  • Assemble and align pumpsets

  • Take part in final performance testing

  • Complete QA checks prior to dispatch

  • Assist in sharing your knowledge and technical expertise

  • Participate in training sessions for workshop staff

  • Assist in writing instructional books – i.e. requires research

  • Supervise interns (who may be on site periodically, generally for 3 weeks at a time)

  • Prepare test rig for performance tests for external clients and organise external contractors

  • Facilitate stock sales for on-site customers

  • Help with deliveries when required

 

Hours of work 

For the most part, the team works 40 hours per week. 

  • Early start

  • Early finish

  • 7am – 3pm Monday to Friday

 

What you need to have 

Pumpset Technology pride themselves in providing great customer service and they achieve that in part by looking out for each other, and in working with similarly high standards and care.

 

It is a given that you will have an understanding of the type of products they are working with, coupled with:  

  • Appropriate trade qualification

  • Experience – ideally, looking for about 10 years

  • Driver licence (clean, full licence)
