Mechanic - Performance Cars
Background
This is a newly created role in a business that has built its reputation on a passion for excellence, integrity and a deep knowledge of how to get the best out of high performance cars.
In particular, our client, XAIR, are sought after for their expertise in modifications to Holden Commodores, Camaros and Corvettes.
They have vehicles booked in months in advance and they run a tight ship to meet these promised timeframes.
XAIR’s name is synonymous with an unparalleled level of skill and a deep knowledge of their craft.
This is coupled with care and a commitment to give outstanding service to their many loyal and repeat customers.
Over the summer months, their Wakeboard Division kicks up a gear, providing another outlet to sports enthusiasts.
Your part in the team
Being one of only two on site mechanics will place you at the heart of what the business is about – and gives you someone similarly skilled to bounce ideas off.
You will work with (and take direction from) the Head Mechanic.
Some of what you will do each day
· Installation of Power Package Parts to customer and XAIR cars
· Servicing and maintenance of customer and XAIR cars
· Preparation and maintenance of XAIR NZV8 Race Car
· Ordering required parts from local suppliers
· Dropping off and picking up customers’ cars from trusted partner suppliers
· Keeping accurate records, hours completed and jobs done
· Working with the Head Mechanic to ensure cars are completed on time
· Help with installation of parts & towers on boats
(XAIR Wakeboarding Division)
· Working with the Business Owner on new projects as required
Hours of work
· 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday
· 8.30am to 12.30pm Saturday rostered (one in every four)
Hourly pay
· $28.00 to $40.00
· Possibly negotiable for the right person
Is this you?
You will be joining an elite team whose service ethic and integrity are unparalleled.
As such, it will be essential that you are a skilled automotive mechanic.
However, more weight will be put on how you work, and your readiness to pitch in where needed to get jobs done in the timeframes promised.
The team work to tight schedules, and they help each other to get what they have promised across the line.

Though not essential, it would be great if you also have:
· Welding experience – MIG & TIG
· Fabrication experience
