What this role offers
With an expert team of engineers and fitters – and clients throughout New Zealand, Pumpset Technology provides pumping solutions, equipment and services to supply water to the fire protection, snowmaking and irrigation industries. Additionally, they are investigating solutions for mini and micro hydrogeneration schemes.
Although they have expanded operations into Queenstown, much of the fabrication work still takes place at their Penrose site.
The team are focussed on doing things well – and providing solutions to their clients in a way that is ethical and technically sound.
They’re down to earth, practical and treat each other well.
What’s involved day-to-day?
Taking a fair bit of pride in your workmanship the role spans all types of fabrication and contributing to the workshop team in a way that helps everyone get their projects across the line.
Some of the specifics that you will take ownership from include:
Fabrication of simple parts as per our client’s parts book drawings
Fabrication of mild steel chassis (MIG) for stock
TIG welding of custom stainless exhaust tube and pipe
Fabrication of mild steel pipe work
To manage container modifications (marking out, cutting, fitting panels) and equipment pods build
Working with the Engineering team to help improve efficiencies of in the fabrication process and work flow.
Pay
Pay will be commensurate with your experience
Expected to be perhaps $30.00 to $35.00 per hour

Ideally, this position will be suited to someone who is confident in the following:
Mild steel pipework fabrication
Stainless steel pipe fabrication
General structural steel fabrication
Reading and interpreting technical drawings
Computer literate
Additional qualification / skills
NZ welding certificate standard AS/NZS2980
You will be physically fit
A sense of humour will be welcomed
