Background
With an expert team of engineers and fitters – and clients throughout New Zealand, Pumpset Technology provides pumping solutions, equipment and services to supply water to the fire protection, snowmaking and irrigation. Additionally, they are investigating solutions for mini and micro hydrogeneration schemes.
This newly created position will be based at the company’s Queenstown site, which was just opened in the last year to support a loyal South Island client base while taking control and growing the Controls side of the business.
As such, you will travel elsewhere in the South Island – and further north, as and when your skills are called upon.
Being a new role for the company, you will have considerable scope and support to help make this role an integral part of the business.
Along with being a collaborative team, a sense of humour is welcome.
A typical week
Offering end-to-end delivery means Pumpset Technology electricians are involved in the design & build, installation and commissioning of projects.
In reality, there may be no typical week. However, the following may give you an idea of the range of things you can expect to be involved in and responsible for.
Preparing control panels for delivery, i.e. adding and fitting pressure switches, fitting gauge panels and more
Flying up to Auckland or Napier for the commissioning of a fire pump – or driving up the road to commission snowmaking controls
Building electric motor control panels and battery solutions
Preparing engine wiring looms, battery cables and other stock items in the workshop
Working on prototypes with the Control Systems Engineer
Hours of work
This is a full-time role, though some flexibility may be possible with hours - and those all important ‘powder days’.
Salary
Our client will pay fairly for the skills and expertise that you bring to the role.
A vehicle is not provided as part of the remuneration, but will of course be available for your use when required.
