Summary of what you will do
Long story short, you will help the Senior Architectural Designer get drawings through the Council’s Building Consent process, so construction can commence.
Day-to-day you will:
Submit documentation necessary for Building Consent
Respond to RFI’s and complete paperwork in order for building consents to be successfully granted
Ensure paperwork trail is kept to follow through all consents to Code of Compliance
Assist with information and drawings required for Resource Consents
Prepare drawings for buildings to the employer’s own specifications, the Building Code 3604 and engineering specifications and designs
Prepare specifications for quotes and builds
Work with Construction Director to ensure plans, budgets and time constraints are as agreed
Possibly assist with (and attend) Trade Shows
We hope to hear from you if you have:
Experience obtaining Building Consents through NZ local or regional Council
The know-how and readiness to happily support a senior Architectural Designer
The ability to contribute an eye for detail in the preparation and submission of plans for Council approval
Relevant tertiary qualification in Architectural Design or Technology
Ideally LBP2 status (preferred, not essential)
Strong design skills
NZS 3604
Software knowledge
ArchiCAD
You will be well practiced with skills in drawing and presentation using CAD software such as ArchiCAD, Vectorworks or similar
Legislation & council knowledge
As well as having a working knowledge of local by-laws and the consent process and procedures, and planning regulations, we are looking for someone who is familiar with:
NZ Building Code
The Building Act 2004
Resource Management Act 1991
